“It’s in the stars
And you’re my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I’m being clear
Cause there’s no one like you on Earth
That can be my universe”
– Coheed & Cambria
It’s not a secret that we love intimate weddings. Often times we feel these come combined with couples who can be called free spirits. This wedding was no exception to this. When we met Sandra & Robert for the first time it was more like a speed dating as they didn’t have that much time the day, but we connected right away. We’ve been talking about veganism, music (they love punk / hardcore / emo / emocore, just like Björn does), straight edge and of course a little bit about their wedding. Writing this I can’t recall if we also spoke about cats, but yeah, they have two cats. Jessy was in love.
Come the day of their wedding, we met them in their flat where Sandra was getting ready with the help of a friend who was doing her make-up, while Robert was spending time in front of the computer with some ego-shooter. Separately they had their hair done at Toni & Guy before Robert headed out to the “Lila Nashorn”, a small venue in Hamburg-Ottensen, not to have (and lose) a fight against the cat feeder before that. One day machines will take over. Remember the Terminator movies. We’re all gonna… Anyway, having arrived at the venue Robert couldn’t wait to see Sandra for the first time in her wedding dress. They both looked stunning, what else is there to say? A close friend of them then held the ceremony which made it very special for them. Tears, laughter, you know it, typical wedding reactions.
The rest of the day was spent talking, eating, drinking, playing (the youngsters spent time with fidget spinners, while some others, mainly Robert and his brothers, enjoyed the “Street Fighter” video arcade machine. All of that accompanied by great music, such as Fall Out Boy, Get Up Kids, Coheed & Cambria, Hot Water Music, just to name a few.
I could tell you about us plundering the cake buffet (what else did they expect having the best cherry-chocolate-cream cake (vegan, of course) made by Happenpappen?!?!), but that doesn’t belong here. We don’t wanna leave the impression of being the first ones to eat cake (but we sometimes are).
