Oh Rømø, you know you already had our hearts, but every time we’re returning to this beautiful island in Denmark we feel like we’re in love again for the first time. This time was special, let us tell you why:

Nina & Torben already got married a few years ago but they couldn’t really afford a wedding photographer at that time, but they still had the idea of wanting some portraits of themselves in their wedding outfits. This is not really special, but the fun fact fact about this is that Torben used to be Björn’s neighbor a few years ago and Nina was a fan of our work as Hafenliebe from day one, but she didn’t know Torben knew Björn, who years ago had already taken photos of Torben’s band. So when we met to talk about ideas for the portraits this fact came up and somehow it was something that seems to happen quite some time to us. We love these coincidences. A lot. So, we were talking about ideas and we suggested Rømø as a destination for a daytrip, both of them hadn’t been there before but they love Europe’s north and are going to Denmark on a quite regular basis, to camp, hike, surf, these things. We also mentioned that Rømø was one of the filming location for Roman Polanski’s “The Ghostwriter”, a movie Nina & Torben had just been watching a few weeks before. Another coincidence? Karma? We don’t know but Rømø was all set and so we drove out there when the day of the session came up. As soon as we crossed the dam to the island everybody in the car got taken away by Rømø’s magical atmosphere. No one cared about how cold and windy it was that day anymore.
